Benefits of Calcium

Vital Bones provides a non-dairy source of calcium, Aquamin™, to support strong bones and an active lifestyle.*

Benefits of Vitamin D3
Vitamin D3 helps the body absorb the two key minerals for bone health, calcium and phosphorus, to be used more effectively. Along with its bone health attributes, Vitamin D3 also helps with muscle movement and nerve control.

Benefits of Magnesium
Magnesium is important for maintaining bone health and supporting bone density. Some studies show that magnesium can lower the risk of bones becoming brittle and weak.

We Build Around What Works

"Most supplement brands begin with a budget and formulate around it. We take the opposite approach - starting with the research. We look at which forms offer the best bioavailability, which doses are supported by clinical studies, and what the evidence truly shows. Every ingredient in a Nature’s Lab formula earns its place. If clinical research doesn’t demonstrate real benefits at the dose we use, it doesn’t make it into the bottle."

Customers praised this plant-based bone supplement featuring calcium from marine algae, plus D3, K2, magnesium, and zinc. Many appreciated the "comprehensive" formula and easy-to-swallow capsules. However, some noted concerns about lack of third-party testing, a slight odor, and the 30-day supply requiring 3 capsules daily.

Good ingredients but need third-party testing of each individual product.

I like the ingredients in Nature's Gold Vital Bones. I just wish that they had third-party testing on their products. (I know they have their facilities tested, but they do not have the individual products tested by a third party.)

Perfect supplement for Bone Health

My mom raves about this and has introduced several of her friends to it. It has everything in it one would need to fortify your bones: Calcium, Magnesium, Vitamin D3, Vitamin K2, Boron, Silica and Zinc. Excellent for aging bones, or anyone who wants to help the body heal a broken bone.

Broken tablets but easy to take

Great tablets from a reputable brand commonly found in grocery stores. These tablets are small and thin enough to break. A few of these were broken upon me opening the bottle for the first time. As a woman, I'm trying to get better about my calcium intake as a lot of women's multivitamins typically don't have calcium included and this gives you a health dose without going over. There was a slight scent to these but nothing off putting to this product. Give these a try!

Nice Mix of Plant-Based Ingredients | Only 30-Day Supply

PROS:
(1) The ingredients include vitamin D3, calcium, and vitamin K2 (among others), so you get a diverse mix of supplements that are shown to be beneficial to bone health.
(2) The K2 comes from Menaquinone-7 (MK-7), which is a more bioavailable form of K2 (compared to MK-4 which you also see). I started taking K2 when I heard a doctor talk about facial bone loss that can contribute to the appearance of aging.
(3) I like that this is a plant-based option, and it also is made in the USA.

CONS:
(1) You have to take 3 capsules a day, and each bottle only contains a 30-day supply. I think that makes the value and convenience a little less than ideal.

They Are What They Say They Are

I got this product because I was looking for a calcium supplement to "supplement my calcium!" They appear to be doing the job. It's going to be a while before I can get my calcium checked again to see how well they're working. I will report back as soon as I know something.

Love it since it's plant based. The pill is a bit hard to swallow.

Slight off-putting odor for me makes them taste a bit funky

It's difficult to rate supplements on items like absorbency or perceived effectiveness as they typically have to be taken long term to compile any potentially useful data in this area.

I do like that this calcium comes in a capsule rather than a tablet, and most calcium tablets are HUGE, and as a result, a bit difficult to swallow. I find that I personally do better with supplements in a capsule format.

One thing I do notice is that (to me anyway) there is a slight off-putting odor... and that typically equates to a bit of a funky taste for me. Then again, I can often detect odors long before others can (I've been referred to as cadaver-dog nose), so admittedly I am extra sensitive in this area of smell and taste.

This calcium seems to settle better than other calcium and absorb well. I love how they are in capsule form so I can swallow them well.

Lab is USP not product

This product (Nature's Lab Gold Vital Bones with Aquamin Plant-Based Calcium) is not USP verified. The facility that it is manufactured in is USP audited. They don't make claims otherwise, but it is misleading. I went to the USP website to see if I could verify anything, and there's only one product, a turmeric supplement, that Nature's Lab makes that is USP verified. I'm taking off two stars for the misleading marketing.

Vegan Calcium capsules

First to explain, I cant give information about the effectiveness right away. Supplements and vitamins take a while to take effect, especially since this is only one months worth of supplements. If I notice a difference right away, Ill mention it. I also take supplements so these might work WITH what Im taking.
Opening the bottle, it did smell a little marine like. Everyone needs calcium and I thought this would be neat to try. There was no aftertaste with consuming the capsules, so that was a good thing. You do have to take 3 capsules, so that is a lot if you take other supplements.

It does give you less than 50 percent of your calcium needs, but does have zinc and a lot of D3 and magnesium.

This is vegan if its important to you, and natural. I do like the formula and may continue to buy this if I see any difference. The price is comparable to other products. Other than that, I will have to get back to you about the effectiveness.

High quality plant based bone supplement

I was recently diagnosed with Osteoporosis, so I needed a good quality bone supplement. This Natures Lab Vital Bones supplement is just what I was looking for.
In the past, Ive avoided taking calcium supplements, because excess calcium can cause health issues. However, with this being a plant based calcium, it doesnt cause the health issues that the other types can.
I really appreciate that it also contains vitamin D & K, zinc, boron, and silica, as they all work together for bone health, and I dont have to buy those supplements separately.
The capsules are regular size, as you can see in the photo. Theyre easy to swallow, and dont have an aftertaste, or cause burps.
This is a high quality supplement, from a reputable company. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking to improve their bone health.

Complete plant-based bone health supplement

Ive been taking many of the ingredients in this Vital Bones supplement, to keep my Osteoporosis from getting worse.
I was very interested in trying this product because the calcium is plant-based, from marine algae, rather than limestone rock. This makes it more easily absorbed, and utilized by the body. The magnesium is also derived from marine algae.
Im impressed with the other ingredients that all work together, to support bone health. Its nice to have all of them in one supplement, at optimal dosages.
The capsules are on the larger size, but I havent had any problem swallowing them. Ive found that taking them at the beginning of a meal is helpful, to make sure they go all the way down.
The bottle arrived sealed, and I appreciate that theyre manufactured in the USA.
This is an excellent bone health supplement, that I would order again.

Backed by science, natural sources of calcium

Im at this stage of life where osteoporosis is a real concern. As I was shopping for another bottle of calcium and vitamin D supplement, I ran across this brand.
The Natures Lab Vital Bones contains a nondairy source of calcium derived primarily from marine algae. It fits my needs because three capsules will provide 40% of my daily calcium need and 500% of my vitamin D3. Most impressively, I also found that many research papers had been published about the benefits of the proprietary formula, Aqamin. Plant-based calcium (combined with vitamin D) has been shown to be more effective in building stronger bones. The additional trace elements may provide additional anti-inflammatory actions.
The vitamin K2 ingredient, while beneficial for bone remodeling, should be taken with caution among people who are on a blood thinner regimen.
Manufactured in the USA in Nevada, the bottle contains 90 capsules which is good for a month. While I have only used it for a few days, I do not feel any side effects or GI discomfort.

Comprehensive calcium supplement

I appreciate that this calcium supplement is more comprehensive than the calcium pills I usually buy. I also like that the calcium in this supplement is sourced from seaweed! This supplement also includes magnesium, zinc, boron, vitamin D3, and vitamin K2, which can help with calcium absorption. I take one dose (3 pills) about an hour before bed. I also like that, unlike some calcium pills, these pills are small and easy to swallow. This supplement is also reasonably priced at $19 for about a months' supply. If you are looking for an alternative, high quality calcium supplement to calcium carbonate supplements, I would recommend this.

Good bone-support supplement

I like that I can take this for bone support (more and more important as I age, I think) and that it takes the place of some key components of a typical multivitamin, which for various reasons I am veering away from taking regularly.

I have tested as having a Vitamin D deficiency, which I guess is more common than people realize, probably in my case because I'm fair-skinned and really try to prevent sun exposure. In any case, this covers that. This also ensures I get enough calcium, magnesium, and zinc. Even though the last of those, at 15 mg., gives you 136% DV, it's still far less than you get in many multis and certainly in zinc-only supplements.

With the calcium, magnesium, and zinc, I have been taking this prior to bed for sleep help and immune response. It's hard to tell what effect it is having, but overall I have been feeling pretty good these days. On top of the ingredients mentioned, it also has bamboo extract, Vitamin K2, and boron, which are all very interesting to me and which you don't always get in typical multis.

Finally, at 3 capsules per serving, this is only a one-month supply, so not the greatest value out there, imo. But one thing I really like is that I can take 1, 2, or 3, depending on how I am feeling and/or what other supplements I have taken during the day. So, this bottle will probably last me more like two months, which then makes it a pretty good value.
