Eucalyptus Shaving Cream Recipe

We’re highlighting essential oil uses for men this week at Paradise Springs. It’s easy for men to incorporate essential oils into their daily routines, and this refreshing Eucalyptus Shaving Cream is a great way to start the morning with an invigorating, natural shave. Many shaving creams are filled with harsh chemicals (sulfates, PTFE, and many others), fragrances and other additives, which can be particularly concerning when applying it to open pores and exfoliated, sensitive skin. Instead, try this DIY shaving cream made with four natural ingredients. This combination of coconut oil and shea butter will make for a moisture-filled shaving solution that leaves skin hydrated and smooth, while essential oils will contribute antibacterial properties and an herbaceous scent.

What You'll Need

• ¼ cup coconut oil
• ¼ cup shea butter
• 2 Tbsp Almond Oil (or try Paradise Springs Jojoba Oil)
• 4 drops Paradise Springs Organic Eucalyptus Oil
• 8 oz glass jar for storing

Optional: Adjust the amount of Eucalyptus Oil to your liking, or feel free to try different essential oil combinations (we love combining 2 drops Eucalyptus Oil with 4 drops Sweet Orange Oil). The possibilities are endless!

To Make:

Use a double boiler method to melt the coconut oil and shea butter. To do this, fill a pan with a few inches of water and bring to a boil. Add the coconut oil and shea butter into a glass bowl and nestle on top of boiling water until melted.

Once melted, remove from heat and add two tablespoons of Paradise Springs Jojoba Oil. Whisk together and place in the refrigerator to cool down until a soft consistency is reached (don’t let the mixture cool completely).

Remove from refrigerator and use a hand mixer to whip for one minute. Add the Eucalyptus Oil (or alternate oil combination of your choice) and whip for an additional 1-2 minutes. Transfer to an airtight jar for storage.

Use and Storage:

To use, soak shaving brush in warm water, dipping into shaving cream. Apply a thin layer (a little goes a long way!) to skin for a refreshing shave. Store in a cool, dry place at room temperature.
