Our Six Daily multivitamin is a product we are immensely proud of here at Nature’s Lab. We wanted to create a supplement that addressed mood, vision, heart health, cognitive function, beauty, inflammation and digestive health all in one. The result was Six Daily. In this blog we explain each ingredient in Six Daily and how it benefits your health.
The Essential Vitamins
An essential fat-soluble vitamin that is required for several health processes including immune health and fetal development. Vitamin A is crucial for maintaining vision and also supports regular cell turnover for glowing skin.*
Vitamin C is an antioxidant molecule with countless benefits for the body. Vitamin C increases absorption of other essential nutrients such as iron and calcium and can regenerate used up vitamin E.* It helps reduce damaging oxidation from free radicals by stopping these destructive chain reactions in their tracks.* Vitamin C also supports the immune system which helps fight off attacks from outside pathogens.*
We can create vitamin D when exposed to sunlight, however, because the body needs a substantial amount of this essential vitamin, supplementation is often recommended. Six Daily contains the effective dosage level of 5,000 IUs of bioavailable vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Vitamin D3 is preferred to Vitamin D2 because it is similar to the form of vitamin D3 created during sun exposure.*
Vitamin E is an antioxidant that aids in circulation, helping blood flow freely.* Because it is an antioxidant it can quench free radicals.* Being deficient in vitamin E can lead to nerve-related pain.
Vitamin K is essential to healthy blood clotting and also affects how well the body can utilize calcium.* We’ve included vitamin K-1 and vitamin K-2 in Six Daily for maximum benefit of vitamin K’s properties.
Thiamin (Vitamin B1)
Vitamin B1 or thiamin is an essential nutrient that is water-soluble. We can’t store this vitamin in our bodies, so it must be replaced regularly.* It is a key vitamin for healthy nerve function and heart health.*
Riboflavin (Vitamin B2)
Vitamin B2, also known as riboflavin, is required for the breakdown of food into ATP (adenosine triphosphate) energy.* This water-soluble vitamin has so many uses it would be impossible to list them all here. Among its most critical jobs are supporting eye, liver, nerve and skin health.*
Niacin (Vitamin B3)
Niacin supports many chemical reactions in the body that are essential for survival.* It is utilized by the body to create nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD). NAD is a coenzyme used to create energy fuel for our muscles. Niacin, like other B vitamins, supports healthy nerve and cognitive function and contributes to a positive mood.*
In Six Daily vitamin B6 is present in the form of pyridoxine HCI and pyridoxal 5 phosphate. Some neurotransmitters within the brain require vitamin B6 in order to be produced.* Vitamin B6 is known for its soothing effect on the mind, and is often included in mood or sleep supplements to enhance relaxation.*
We often think of folate supplementation in the prevention of birth defects but it also serves other functions within the body such as contributing to red blood cell formation and healthy blood pressure levels.* Six Daily includes 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF) which is a form that is more easily absorbed by the body.*
Six Daily includes a bioavailable form of vitamin B12 called methylcobalamin. Vitamin B12 is indispensable in red blood cell formation and maintaining the health of nerve cells. Vitamin B12 can impart a feeling of increased energy due to its effect on mitochondria as well as red blood cells that carry oxygen throughout the body.* The methylcobalamin form of vitamin B12 can pass directly into the brain where it promotes serotonin creation and other cognitive health benefits.*
Biotin (Vitamin H)
Biotin supports the creation of keratin protein.* Keratin makes up nails and hair plus it is also found in the skin layers.
Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5)
Six Daily uses pantothenic acid in the form of D-calcium pantothenate and pantethine. Like other B vitamins it is influential in nerve health and keeping red blood cells healthy.*
Six Daily uses iodide in the form of potassium iodide. Iodine can’t be produced in our bodies so we must get it from outside sources. Without it, the thyroid gland cannot function properly and create adequate amounts of thyroid hormone.*
This nutrient is used in the body in large amounts for countless reactions needed to sustain life including supporting electrolyte balance and healthy blood pressure levels.* Magnesium deficiency is common in Westernized diets. It is estimated that nearly half of Americans are likely deficient in magnesium. Six Daily provides 405 mg of magnesium oxide and magnesium aspartate combined per serving.
Zinc is another essential mineral that is required for immune health, wound healing and converting food into usable energy.* Zinc cannot be created in the body or stored. Having an adequate daily intake of zinc is needed for optimal wellness. Six Daily uses three forms of zinc in its formula; zinc oxide, zinc carnosine and L-OptiZinc®. L-OptiZinc® has a high absorption rate because it pairs zinc with the amino acid L-methionine for better bioavailability.*
Selenium is a trace mineral that acts like an antioxidant. It reduces inflammation and supports production of the body’s main antioxidant, glutathione.* Six Daily uses Selenium SeLECT®, a form of selenium attached to an amino acid to increase its absorption within the digestive system.*
Manganese is a trace mineral associated with food breakdown, mood and bone development. Manganese is a mineral that few Americans consume enough of through diet alone. Six Daily provides 2mg of high absorption manganese amino acid chelate.
Chromium is a trace mineral that plays a role in blood sugar metabolism.* It also promotes healthy cholesterol levels.* Six Daily features the bioavailable branded ingredient ChromeMate®. ChromeMate® uses niacin-bound chromium for increased uptake.*
Molybdenum isn’t as well known, however it is a key mineral that supports detoxification.* Molybdenum helps activate several different enzymes that remove toxins such as sulfites from our system.*
The trace mineral boron is a substance that can significantly affect how well we absorb and utilize nutrients like magnesium, vitamin D, calcium and others. Boron helps in properly metabolizing testosterone and estrogen hormones in men and women.* Boron has antioxidant properties that can reduce inflammatory stress from free radicals.*
Alpha Lipoic Acid, Acetyl-L-Carnitine and CoQ10
Alpha Lipoic Acid
This super antioxidant with the power to affect both fat and water-soluble parts of the cell can also support healthy blood sugar metabolism.* Six Daily contains an effective dosage level of 600 mg of alpha lipoic acid per serving.*
Acetyl-l-carnitine is a compound made from an amino acid. It enhances how effectively we use fat for fuel which can result in improved energy and fat burning.* Acetyl-l-carnitine passes the blood-brain barrier and may also elevate mood.*
One of the elite features of Six Daily is its generous dosage amount of 100mg of CoQ10. Most multivitamins completely overlook this heart-healthy antioxidant or include only paltry amounts. CoQ10 is used in creating ATP muscle fuel and also reduces free radicals that damage tissues.*
Milk thistle contains silymarins that support liver health and glutathione levels.* Six Daily includes 300 mg of milk thistle extract that is standardized to 80%.
Superfood Powders and Complexes
RichBerry® Active Fruit/Berry Complex
This complex contains a superfood blend of blackberry, blueberry, elderberry, cranberry, cherry, persimmon and prune. These fruits are abundant in proanthocyanidins, flavonoids and other inflammation-fighting antioxidants.*
preB® Fermented Superfood Powder
This complex of prebiotic fiber-rich vegetables and fruits supports gut health by promoting beneficial bacteria.* This fermented complex includes 55 different ingredients such as avocado, turnip, millet, ginger and chicory.
VitaBerry® is a proprietary formula composed of grape, grape seed extract, wild blueberry, wild blueberry extract, raspberry, raspberry seed concentrate, cranberry, prune, tart cherry, wild bilberry, wild bilberry extract and strawberry powder. This antioxidant blend provides whole fruit ingredients that are responsible for its extraordinarily high Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC).*
The addition of this vegetable complex is a simple way to get more plant-based food into your diet. VitaVeggie® is a phytochemical-rich composition of broccoli sprout concentrate, onion extract, tomato, broccoli, carrot, spinach, kale and brussel sprouts. These concentrated vegetable nutrients provide an antioxidant boost to Six Daily’s formula.
Pomegranate extract contains a concentrated source of this fruit’s polyphenols such as ellagic acid and punicalagin. Pomegranate may improve circulation and support healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels.*
Grape Seed, Resveratrol and Red WIne Extracts
Grape Seed Extract
The seeds of grapes are a source of resveratrol and other plant phytochemicals. Grape seed extract within this multivitamin is beneficial for supporting the lining of the arteries and healthy blood pressure levels.* Six Daily's grape seed extract is standardized to 95% proanthocyanidins.
Red Wine Extract
The process to create red wine makes it an extremely concentrated source of polyphenols. Red wine extract captures the diverse array of anthocyanins and other plant antioxidants found in red wine without the added alcohol content.*
Resveratrol is likely the most potent antioxidant found in grapes.* It supports brain and heart health by protecting DNA elements from degradation.*
Horsetail Extract has a high silica content which promotes hair growth as well as healthy nails and skin.* Horsetail extract may also support strong bones since bones possess a high silica content.*
Mushroom Immunity and Energy Complex
The mushroom complex in Six Daily contains a diverse selection of immune-boosting mushroom species. Himematsutake (Agaricus blazei), Maitake, (Grifola frondrosa), Wolfiporia Cocos, Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) and Shitake (Lentinula edodes) mushrooms are combined in this complex that supports immunity, energy and cognitive health.*
Pine Bark Extract
Pine bark is a unique nutrient that may promote cardiovascular health. Pine bark contains catechins, procyanidins and other compounds that exert high antioxidant activity.*
Turmeric Extract and BioPerine®
Turmeric Extract functions as an antioxidant within the body due to its curcuminoids which can positively influence immune health, inflammation and other aspects of wellness.* This formula features a turmeric extract standardized to 95% curcuminoids. In comparison, there are many turmeric supplements on the market that have a standardized level of curcuminoids at only 1 or 2%.
BioPerine® or black pepper extract is added to Six Daily to enhance bioavailability of turmeric and other nutrients within this formula.* Black pepper extract is an efficient way to increase absorption of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.*
Organic Cinnamon Powder
Cinnamon is a spice that can have an impact on your metabolism and overall health. Cinnamon can aid in glucose metabolism, helping to maintain healthy blood sugar levels.*
